definitely check out frenchmen in the early evening. dba has good beers, good tunes. and there is a neat little jazz spot (spotted cat) across the street. its a more local scene on Frenchmen St. than bourbon
solid casual spot to get the classics - oysters, fried shrimp po boys - in french quarter at decent prices. get there early to beat the crowds. it's a default place i always end up at.
